The National Arboretum ACT

The National Arboretum Canberra opens it's doors to the Public.

Wee Jasper Stone is the primary supplier of stone to the project. Supplying FlaggingWall Rock, Boulders and Gabion Stone to the new Visitors Center and also Gabion and 63mm Aggregate to the Water Wise Gardens.

The Gabion Stone lines the entry way to the impressive Visitors Center. The stone is not only an attraction, it serves as a drainage and erosion control wall for the surrounding hills. The visitor center itself is lined with Wee Jaspers Stones Flagging & Walling Rock. A finish that compliments the impressive structure that over looks the Arboretum, the Capital and Lake Burley Griffin.

The National Arboretum is one of the new and exciting attractions opening during the centenary of Canberra. The Arboretum is helping to create a lasting legacy to take the nation’s capital into the next century. An arboretum is a place where trees are cultivated for conservation, scientific and educational study, display and preservation.

The vision of the ACT Government in establishing the National Arboretum Canberra is for it to become one of the great arboreta in the world. The aim is to provide a place of outstanding beauty of international standard and interest that is a destination and recreational resource for the local community and visitors to Canberra.

The National Arboretum Canberra will feature 100 forests of Australian natives and various rare and endangered trees from Australia and around the world. This concept redefines the meaning of a public arboretum in the 21st century. As it develops into the future, it will become a significant recreational and educational asset with an important role for sustainability, the protection of biodiversity and for best practice in horticulture and water management.

The inclusion of Wee Jasper Stone products in this great project is a testament the quality of this Natural Australian Bluestone.
